Isn't technology another name for Shop?

Although technology is often referred to as "Shop" it is more than that, It is actually a class­room-laboratory combination, providing students with the opportunity to study the materials, process, products, and related problems of the aforementioned areas through such activities as planning, organizing, creating, constructing, experiment, testing, servicing, and evaluating.
